Anderson Development Company Wins EHS&S Award
Adrian facility honored for its commitment to environmental, health, safety and security performance
WASHINGTON, DC – The Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association (SOCMA) is proud to announce that Anderson Development Company of Adrian, Michigan will receive its 2005 Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHS&S) Excellence Award.
“We are very proud of our sustained accomplishments but never satisfied that we have reached our full potential towards improvement in EHS&S.” said Scott Tatro, Anderson Development Company’s NF3 Plant Manager and Responsible Care Coordinator. The NF3 Facility also received SOCMA’s Excellence Award in 2001.
Anderson Development Company is being recognized for its outstanding EHS&S program including its community outreach activities. The company organized a county-wide mock hazmat training exercise and hydrofluoric acid education program for medical personnel. In addition, the company worked with a local environmental educational center to promote lifelong learning for the environment. Anderson Development Company also hosted an annual household hazardous waste day which was open to the tri-county area.
“Anderson has shown a real commitment to implementing its EHS&S program and has raised the standard for performance excellence in the chemical industry,” said SOCMA President Joseph Acker.
The award promotes continuous improvement in core areas including Community Awareness and Emergency Response, Pollution Prevention, Process Safety, Employee Health and Safety, Product Stewardship, Distribution and Security.
